Colorado City Parks and Recreation offers a variety of youth and adult programs. We offer basketball, baseball and soccer for the youth and an adult pickleball program. We operate our programs with volunteer coaches from the community. If you would like to volunteer as a coach please contact the Colorado City Parks and Recreation office at 719-676-3059.
PARKS AND REC BASKETBALL
Registration is open and will close on December 15, 2024. Registrations will NOT be accepted after December 15th for any reason. The registration process is online through the Sports Plus app. Instructions are listed on the parks and rec website.
The season will be a little different from last year. Practices will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Rye Elementary School. Games will be held on Saturdays at Craver Middle School. The season will begin in January and run to the end of February. Be sure to check days and times that don’t work for your practice time and we will do our best to accommodate. Please only select the options that absolutely won’t work for you. The more selections you make, the less likely we can accommodate your requests.
Players with early practice will be permitted to stay after school but will need to report to the gym immediately. Parks and Recreation will have staff on duty from 3:00 to 7:30 on practice days. Parents and players will need to enter/exit the elementary school through the gym door. The school hallways are off limits. Only the gym and restrooms will be available during practice.
We are always looking for coaches. If you would like to volunteer, please contact parks and recreation prior to registering your child as you will receive a discount.
Game times will be determined after we see how many participants and teams we will have. 3rd-5th will start our mornings, followed by 1st-2nd and ending the day with PreK-K.
We are also looking for sponsors for the season. The sponsorship fee is $100 and will get your name/logo on a team’s jersey. Contact the parks and rec office is you are interested in sponsoring a team.

Registration Process
Colorado City Parks and Rec is now using an online registration process for all of our sports programs and swim lessons. The link listed on the parks and rec website will direct you to the SportsPlus registration page. You will need to create an account as the parent/guardian. You can then add family members to your account. You will only have to do this for the first program registration. Your info will be saved in your account for future registrations.
Once you have created your account, you can download the SportsPlus app and login with the same credentials. You can also sign up for notifications via email, text or through the app. We will use this feature to share opening of registrations, team communication, rainouts, etc.,
